Let’s start with a statement: The German word for jellyfish is „Qualle“. No doubt about it, jellyfish sounds a lot nicer! „Qualle“ might fit to that what you might find at the beach, dead. But not for the elegance and beauty that I want to show with this pics.

Beside the one on the top (that’s from the Düsseldorf Aquazoo, long time ago), I took all this pics in the „L’acquario della Sardegna“ in Cala Gonone. A nice little place in a nice town on a beautiful island. Those pics show Phyllorhiza punctata, the Gepunktete Wurzelmundqualle.
